Manager - Accounts Receivable and Credit

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Manager - Accounts Receivable and Credit. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, this role presents an exciting opportunity to support the finance team as it is responsible for the efficient operation of the company's Accounts Receivable and Credit Department. This role manages the daily operations and strategic objectives of the credit and accounts receivable functions by providing objective support, advice, and leadership in the area of Accounts Receivable Collections, Bad Debt Management and Accounts Receivable Litigation.

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Trains, supervises and evaluates the A/R and Credit Department staff.
• Implements credit/collection policies and procedures, maintaining compliance with company policies and standards.
• Review new customer credit applications and credit reports.
• Maintain and oversee customer credit limits, credit reviews and credit hold.
• Oversee customer billing and cash receipts processing.
• Review and process credit memos and chargeback resolutions. • Generate and review weekly and monthly aging reports.
• Manage collection calls, as well as statement preparation, and analysis of customer accounts. • Create, document and maintain collection and adjustment summaries.
• Review and update collection letters and content within customer statements.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.

This role is for you if you have …

• College (CEGEP) or university degree in accounting or finance field.
• Experience working with commercial clients located in Canada, USA and International.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience of working within the credit/collections management function.
• At least 2 years experience directly supervising employees.
• High degree of problem solving and decision-making skills.
• Experience analyzing financial statements and other credit analysis tools.
• Strong interpersonal, communication and listening skills.
• Commercial credit investigation skills and experience in risk assessment.
• Pro-active, responsive and action orientated.
• Must be bilingual - Excellent written and verbal English and French skills.
• Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office - Excel, Word, and email (IBM Notes).
• Knowledge of AS400 an asset.
